**Keeping Your Supreme HD DTF and UV Printers in Top Shape

---

: A Simple Guide to Preventive Maintenance**

Owning a Supreme HD DTF printer or UV machine is a big deal, and you want to make sure it stays in great condition. The best way to do that? Regular preventive maintenance. Trust me, you don’t want to wait until something breaks to fix it. Here’s how you can keep your machine running smoothly without any fancy talk—just real, practical steps.

### Why Bother with Maintenance?

Look, maintenance isn’t just about fixing stuff before it breaks. It’s about making sure your machine always works like a champ. By keeping up with regular maintenance, you avoid unexpected problems, save money on repairs, and get consistently awesome prints.

### 1. **Keep the Room Right**

- **Temperature and Humidity:** Make sure your printing room is around 22 degrees Celsius with about 40 percent humidity. This keeps everything running smoothly and prevents annoying issues like clogged nozzles or damaged printheads.

- **Clean Environment:** Keep the room dust-free. No direct sunlight, no drafts. A clean space means your machine stays happy and healthy.

### 2. **Handle Your Ink Right**

- **Shake It Up:** Before you start printing—heck, even the day before—give those ink bottles a good shake. Get those pigments mixed up nicely. And don’t forget to top off the ink tanks before you hit print.

- **Use the Circulation Pump:** After filling the tanks, run the circulation pump for a few minutes if your machine has one. But wait a few minutes after pouring the ink to let the bubbles settle. Trust me, you don’t want those bubbles (aka dissolved gas) messing with your printhead.

- **Pause Printing to Refill:** If you run out of ink mid-print, stop the machine before refilling. If you don’t, you risk sending those pesky gas bubbles right to your printhead, and that’s a fast track to trouble.

### 3. **Check the Capping Station and Wiper Blade**

- **Clean the Capping Station:** Every time before you print, check the capping station. Make sure it’s clean, especially that rubber seal around the edge. Give it a little wipe with moisturizer. The wiper blade? Same deal—make sure it’s clean and not dry. Think of it like your car’s wiper blade—if it’s dry, it’s gonna scratch, not clean.

- **Use the Right Stuff:** Only use the cleaning solutions meant for your machine. Blue stuff for DTF printers, DTF Toronto Extreme Clean for UV machines. Mixing them up? Bad idea—could ruin your printhead.

- **No Paper Towels, No "Shoe-Shining":** Never, and I mean **never**, use paper towels on your printhead. They’ll leave fibers that can clog things up. And don’t even think about “shoe-shining” your printhead like you might see in some YouTube videos. Your printer isn’t a shoe—it doesn’t need to be polished. Keep it simple, use the right tools, and be gentle.

### 4. **Run Cleanings and Nozzle Checks**

- **Clean and Check:** Before you start a print job, run a cleaning cycle and follow it up with a nozzle check. If you see missing lines, keep cleaning until everything looks perfect.

- **Soak If Needed:** If after five cleanings and nozzle checks you still see issues, it’s time to soak. For DTF, soak the printhead in the blue solution for 30 minutes. For UV, use the Extreme Clean solution and soak for 20 minutes. Keep going until you get that perfect nozzle check.

- **Check for Dried Ink:** If problems persist, move the printhead over and look for dried ink underneath. Use the right tools—cleaning swabs, cleanroom wipes, and the right solution—to clean it up. Skip the Windex and any other household cleaners; they’ll do more harm than good.

### 5. **Final Steps Before Printing**

- **Perfect Nozzle Check, Then Print:** Only start printing when the nozzle check is perfect. If you print with a bad nozzle check, you’re asking for trouble.

- **Don’t Leave the Printer Unattended:** Stay close while it’s printing. Things can go wrong fast, and you want to be there to catch any issues before they turn into big problems.

### 6. **Safety First**

Always wear safety gear—mask, goggles, gloves—when doing maintenance. It’s not worth risking your health over a quick cleaning.
